Every spring the Sacramento and Feather River systems get a spawning run of these powerful fish. During this time these fish are extremely vicious and absolutely assassinate your flys and lures. Fly fishing for stripers involves roll casting, double hauling, and shooting lines. A reasonable knowledge of this type of fishing is recommended. Once you hook a striper on a fly you become addicted. April and May are prime months but, March can be productive in the Sacramento Delta.
